Oilers extend ECHL affiliation with Fort Wayne Komets

Stars 5 Oilers 3 Game 3

The Edmonton Oilers have extended their ECHL affiliation with the Fort Wayne Komets for the 2023-24 season, the team announced on Monday.

This marks the fourth consecutive season that the Oilers and Komets have been affiliated.

The Komets have been a valuable development partner for the Oilers, helping to produce players such as Evan Bouchard, Caleb Jones, and Tyler Benson.

In 2022-23, the Komets finished with a 40-25-7 record, good for second place in the Central Division.

They advanced to the second round of the playoffs, where they were eliminated by the Toledo Walleye.

The Oilers are expected to have a number of prospects playing for the Komets next season, including forwards Dylan Holloway and Jake Neighbours.

The Oilers are confident that the Komets will continue to be a valuable development partner for the years to come.
