Alcaraz Defeats Zverev in Thrilling Five-Set Final
Carlos Alcaraz has won his first French Open title after defeating Alexander Zverev in a thrilling five-set final on Sunday. The 19-year-old Spaniard claimed the victory with a 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 triumph over the German.
A Closely Fought Battle
The match was a closely fought battle from start to finish. Alcaraz took the first set comfortably, but Zverev fought back to win the second and third sets. The fourth set was all Alcaraz, as he broke Zverev's serve twice to take the set 6-1.
In the fifth and deciding set, Alcaraz broke Zverev's serve in the first game and never looked back. He held his serve comfortably throughout the set and broke Zverev's serve again in the final game to seal the victory.
Alcaraz's victory at the French Open is his third Grand Slam title, after winning Wimbledon last year and the US Open in 2023. He is now the youngest player to win the French Open since Rafael Nadal in 2005.
